Bio
Léa Roger. Léa Roger is a Belgian sound artist, experimental harpist and electroacoustic composer. After completing a doctorate in the anthropology of sound at EHESS (Paris), she studied acousmatic composition at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons – Arts2. In her creative work, she likes to play with the unpredictable aspects of sound through physical experiments that combine energy flows, psychoacoustics and sound ecology, to lead the listener towards an expanded state of consciousness. For some years now, she has been exploring somatic practices that permeate her artistic work. This dialogue with the body and inner space is becoming an increasingly important area of research, leading her to experiment with alternative ways of paying attention to others – both human and more than human. Her work has been presented at various venues in Europe, including the Kraak festival, Festival Lumen, Beursschouwburg, Ateliers Claus, Q02, Vooruit, Lieu Multiple, FK:K festival, Club Stadtgarten, Jazzinstitut (Darmstadt), GMEA in Albi, Festival Météo, Festival Akouphen, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, and in Bolivia, where she is in residence at the Alliance Française in Cochabamba. His work is supported by the Fonds d’aide à la création radiophonique, the ACSR, the ‘music’ commission (CFWB), Phonurgia Nova Award, Overtoon (platform for sound art). [2023]
