Jean-Baptiste Zellal


He studied acousmatic composition at the Conservatoire National de Région de Nice with Michel Pascal, Antony Maubert and Gaël Navard, then at the École Supérieure des Arts de Mons, Arts² with Philippe Mion and Ingrid Drese. In 2017 he obtained a Master’s degree in acousmatic composition at Arts².

He creates and plays music in a range of experiences. Passionate about experimental live music, his approach integrates composition, electroacoustic performance, but also acousmatic interpretation. His multidisciplinary approach has led him to work in collaboration with numerous performers, musicians, poets, choreographers and stage directors.

His music is regularly programmed in Belgium and abroad: Ina-GRM (Paris), L’Espace du Son (Brussels), CIME (Moscow), Festival ReMusica (Prishtina) Festival MANCA (Nice), Monaco Electroacoustique (Monte-Carlo), JIME (Amiens). In 2017, he won first prize in the spatial interpretation competition at the L’Espace du Son festival in Brussels.
