Roeland Luyten (Leuven, Belgium, 1977) is a composer of electroacoustic music. Watching science fiction and horror films first introduced him to electroacoustic sounds as a boy. At the age of eight, he began studying flute at the music academy in Leuven. During secondary school, he learns to play electric guitar as a self-taught musician and starts experimenting with effects pedals. While studying classical flute at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, he finds his real passion in the studio composing electroacoustic music with Joris de Laet. Since then, Roeland regularly composes new pieces and collaborates as a musician-composer, sound engineer and stage technician in various theatre and dance productions at home and abroad. His music is performed and has won awards all over the world. [2018]
