Biography
Sophie Delafontaine was born in Switzerland in 1988 and began her musical training on the piano. She specialised in jazz at the Jazzschule Basel and at the Ejma (Ecole de jazz et musique actuelle) in Lausanne. At the same time, she composed for dance. In 2009, she began studying acousmatic composition at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons (Belgium), with Annette Vande Gorne, Philippe Mion, Ingrid Drese and others. She took Annette Vande Gorne’s spatial interpretation course and her summer course. She won second prize interpretation at the last competition L’Espace du Son (Brussels) and plays regularly as part of the concerts Musiques et Recherches (Brussels).
